Environmental impact forecast for electricity in Finland
About this page
This page shows 24-hour forecasts of electricity in Finland. The forecast updates once every hour between xx:30 and the top of the next hour (e.g., 12:30–13:00). The forecasts include CO2 emissions per kWh, the share of renewables, and the share of domestic generation. Use this information to plan your electricity use, for example, shift consumption to times when electricity is cleaner and more renewable.
These predictions are based on a machine learning model developed at the University of Oulu in the Flaire project. Flaire aims to increase the potential of demand side management in decarbonizing the Finnish energy system. To learn more about the project, visit the Flaire website.
The predictions rely mainly on weather forecasts for wind and solar generation as well as historical generation patterns. Please mind that there could be unexpected events, such as outages, failures in power plants or interconnectors, or unusual weather that the model could not foresee.
